<!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> New Addition to Service Play Forum..Specifically for posting additional topics.

The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

MLB GAME OF THE WEEK
Philadelphia Phillies

REASON FOR PICK: Take the Phillies to win 1.5 units.

Roy Halladay’s start has been moved up from Saturday to this Friday game. That actually puts him on regular rest as the club had a day off this week. The Phillies want this horse to carry the load as often as he can—and so do we. He featured in our Game of the Week last week, and he’s the Game of the Week again.

In his first two starts, Halladay has thrown 16 IP with a WHIP of 0.94, a ridiculous ERA of 0.56, all the while fanning 17 while walking 2. He’s backed up by an offense that can score runs from anywhere in the order. Florida starter Anibal Sanchez is nothing special.

Take the Phillies as early as you can—this number’s only going higher. Best of luck, DC.

HOT LINES

Today's Best MLB Bets

Los Angeles Angels at Toronto Blue Jays (-110, 8.5)

Has Angels manager Mike Scioscia mastered the art of the team meeting?

Remember last season when the Angels played .500 ball for the first two months, held a team gathering after a sloppy loss to the Rays on June 11 and went 68-36 the rest of the way?

He didn't wait that long for the annual closed-door chat after the Halos' 2-6 start. Scioscia called the team together Tuesday and they promptly went out and beat the Bronx Bombers on Wednesday.

"Today we seemed to have a little more fire," Torii Hunter said after the victory. "You don't know if it was the meeting yesterday, but today I saw something different in the pitching staff, the hitters and the way we played defensively, all the way around."

While it's too early to call it a turning point, the Angels head north of the border to meet the Blue Jays today with a lot more confidence. They will give the ball to ace Jered Weaver, who's off to a hot start by allowing just four earned runs in 12 innings of work.

Weaver is especially sharp against the Jays, going 5-1 in his career with a level 3.00 ERA. Look for Weaver to shut down what has been a red-hot Jays team.

Pick: Angels

Houston Astros at Chicago Cubs (-210, Off)

Houston had a problem, but may have put it in the past with Thursday's victory over St. Louis.

Off to an 0-8 start, the Astros salvaged their series finale against Kyle Lohse and the Cardinals for their first win of the season.

Houston now heads to Wrigley Field to meet the Cubs and banged-up starter Carlos Silva, who experienced some soreness in his shoulder after his first start at the Reds, where he pitched six innings and settled for a no-decision.

The Astros will go with Felipe Paulino, who was in line for a win against the Phillies in his first start before the bullpen blew it.

It's hard to trust Silva at this price.

Pick: Astros

ICE PICKS

Today's Best NHL Bets

Ottawa Senators at Pittsburgh Penguins (-260, 5.5)

In a series that features stars on both sides of the ice, the Ottawa Senators turned to their role players for a lift in Wednesday’s 5-4 Game 1 victory in Pittsburgh.

Tough guys Chris Neil, Jarkko Ruutu, Chris Kelly and Peter Regin all found the back of the net for the Senators while defenseman Erik Karlsson also scored in the opening win.

"We're trying to do it by committee, we're trying to do it as a team, we're trying to get in shooting lanes, we're trying to block shots, we're trying to have numbers at the bluelines," Ottawa coach Cory Clouson told CBC Sports.

As much as Clouson is happy those skaters contributed, he knows not to count on those goals in Game 2 Friday. He would much rather see stars like Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza stepping up. Those two had an assist each but Alfredsson failed to register a shot on goal while Spezza managed just three shots on goal.

On the other hand, Pittsburgh’s studs were walking tall. Evgeni Malkin scored twice and added a helper while Sidney Crosby picked up three assists. Those two combined for six shots on goal in the loss and will be aiming to tie this series at 1-1 before making the move to Ottawa for Game 3 Sunday.

"We want to have our best effort each and every shift, but you're playing good teams in the playoffs, and there's going to be swings in momentum," Crosby told reporters. "It's a matter of adjusting, it's a matter of executing when you get chances."

Pick: Pittsburgh

Detroit Red Wings at Phoenix Coyotes (115, 5)

Phoenix has been a team of opportunity all season.

The Coyotes made the most of a down year in the Pacific Division, jumped on a hot goalie in Ilya Bryzgalov and took advantage of Detroit’s penalties in Wednesday’s 3-2 Game 1 victory at home.

Phoenix scored all three of its goals with the man advantage, finishing the game 3-for-4 on the power play. The Coyotes weren’t that opportunistic during the regular season, ranking 28th in the NHL in power-play efficiency.

Those man advantages helped Phoenix dig itself out of a 2-1 first period lead. The Coyotes were a little anxious in their first period and a half of playoff hockey since 2002.

“We might have had too much emotion at the beginning,” Coyotes’ captain Shane Doan told the media. “But that’s okay, it’s been too long for a lot of us.”

Expect those postseason jitters to be calmed by the time the puck drops Friday night.

Pick: Phoenix

2009-10 playoffs

Underdogs are 5-2 so far in playoffs; under is 5-1-1.

Devils got beat in first round last two years, are 2-3 in first round series since winning last Cup in '03; they lost opener in series 2-1, going 0-5 on power play (full 10:00 with man edge). Flyers had only 14 shots in first game of series, but killed off five penalties despite losing 10 faceoffs out of 12 while a man short-- they're 4-3 in last seven games at New Jersey.

Penguins lost six of last eight games vs Ottawa, going 2-3 this year. Sens scored pair of power play goals in just 4:51 with man advantage in first game, scoring five goals on just 26 shots and winning 30 of 46 faceoffs while at even strength. Penguins went 7-10 in last 17 games, scoring 7-0-6-4 goals in last four. Ottawa is 5-2 in its last seven road games.

Sharks were ousted in first round of playoffs LY, after going 53-18-11 in regular season, now they're down 1-0 again, after losing 2-1 in the series opener. Home side won four of last five in series, after Sharks were 4-0 vs Colorado LY. Avalanche lost three of four, seven of last ten games. Sharks won eight of last eleven games, but ton of pressure on them here.

Red Wings outshot Phoenix 20-10 in first period of Game 1, led 2-1, but didn't score again; Coyotes are 3-2 vs Detroit this year, winning Game One 3-2, scoring three power play goals in 3:58 with man edge. Phoenix was 1-11 vs Red Wings the last three years, but now can go up 2-0 with win here. Detroit mustered only 20 shots in last two periods, after they had those 20 shots in first period.

Predators missed playoffs LY; they've never won playoff series, losing in first round four times. Nashville won three of last four games- nine of its last 12 games stayed under total. Blackhawks lost in semifinals LY, their first playoffs in six years; they won six of last seven games overall, six of eight games vs Nashville, four of last five vs Preds in this building.

FRIDAY, APRIL 16

NATIONAL LEAGUE

San Francisco (7-2) at L.A. Dodgers (4-5)

Two of the fiercest rivals in baseball hook up for the first time in 2010, as the Dodgers’ Vicente Padilla (0-1, 11.42 ERA) is slated to oppose Todd Wellemeyer (0-1, 5.68) at Dodger Stadium.
San Francisco is off to a torrid start and dating to last year, the team has won 13 of 16 overall and four straight on the road. The Giants took Thursday off after wrapping up a six-game homestand with a 6-0 rout of the Pirates, and they opened the season with a three-game road sweep of the Astros, outscoring Houston 18-6. Additionally, Bruce Bochy’s team is on runs of 14-3 in series openers, 6-1 against the N.L. West, 9-1 versus right-handed starters (5-0 on the road) and 6-2 on Friday. Los Angeles finished up a three-game home series against Arizona with Thursday’s thrilling 6-5 10-inning victory. The Dodgers rallied from deficits of 3-0 and 5-3, scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie it at 5, then Andre Ethier drove in the game-winner with a one-out RBI single in the 10th. Going back to last year’s National League Championship Series loss to the Phillies, the Dodgers have dropped eight of 12, but nine of those games were on the road. They remain on positive runs of 7-2 at home, 6-1 at home against right-handed starters and 5-1 when Padilla faces N.L. West squads. The Dodgers went 11-7 against San Francisco in 2009, and after the home team won the first four meetings, the visitor took eight of the final 14. Wellemeyer, who spent three full seasons with the Cardinals from 2007-2009, pitched 6 1/3 innings in his Giants debut Saturday, giving up four runs on seven hits in taking a 7-2 loss. Going back to last July with St. Louis, Wellemeyer has given up 23 earned runs in his last five starts covering just 24 1/3 innings (8.51 ERA), and his teams lost four of the five contests. Wellemeyer has made six appearances (one start) against the Dodgers, giving up six runs in 12 2/3 innings (4.26 ERA). The one start came at Dodger Stadium in 2008, and the right-hander surrendered three runs on five hits in six innings, losing 4-3. Padilla pitched the Dodgers to a pair of playoff victories over the Cardinals and Phillies last October, but in his past three starts (one in the playoffs, two to begin this season), the veteran right-hander has given up 17 runs (all earned) on 18 hits (five home runs) in 11 2/3 innings. The Dodgers lost all three games (all on the road) after winning seven of his first nine starts after Padilla joined the Dodgers in late August. Including one playoff game, Padilla was 2-0 with a 2.78 ERA in four starts at Dodger Stadium last year. He’s also 5-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 11 career appearances (nine starts) against San Francisco, including 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA in two starts last year. San Francisco is 3-1-1 “under” in its last five on the road, but otherwise it is on “over” tears of 5-1-1 overall, 12-5-1 against division rivals, 4-0 after a day off, 8-1-2 in series openers, 5-1-2 versus right-handed starters and 4-1 on Friday. Likewise, Los Angeles is on a slew of “over” runs, including 22-8-2 overall, 9-3-1 at home (3-0 this season), 10-3-1 versus N.L. West foes, 6-0 against right-handed starters, 5-0-1 in series openers and 7-2-1 with Padilla starting.
Finally, the last six Giants-Dodgers battles last year – and the last four clashes in Los Angeles – hurdled the posted total.

ATS ADVANTAGE: OVER

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Tampa Bay (6-3) at Boston (4-5)

The Red Sox return to Fenway Park following a six-game road trip, and they’ll hand the ball to ace Josh Beckett (1-0, 6.17) to open this four-game series against the Rays, who will counter with rookie Wade Davis (0-1, 6.00). Tampa Bay is coming off a three-game sweep of the Orioles, finishing it with Wednesday’s 9-1 rout as it outscored Baltimore 22-8 in the series. The Rays, who have won four in a row on the highway since last year, are on positive runs of 12-5 overall, 15-5 against the A.L. East, 36-16 on Friday, and 5-0 when opening a series. However, they’ve lost four of five after an off day and 13 of 18 on the road against right-handed starters. Boston completed its road trip with Thursday’s 8-0 loss to the Twins, losing two of three in the series after taking two of three in Kansas City last weekend. The Red Sox opened 2010 with three home games against the hated Yankees, winning the first but losing the next two. They’ve still won 56 of 82 at Fenway Park, though they’re just 1-8 in their last nine against A.L. East foes. These teams split their 18-game season series last year, but Boston won the last four in a row. Also, the Rays have lost 53 of their last 69 games at Fenway Park. Davis gave up four runs on seven hits and four walks in six innings against the Yankees on Saturday, as Tampa Bay got bombed 10-0 at home. The 24-year-old right-hander made six starts down the stretch in 2009, including an ugly 9-1 loss at Fenway Park in which he yielded eight runs on six hits and four walks in just 2 2/3 innings. However, he followed that five days later with his only other road outing to date, a complete-game 3-0 shutout at Baltimore. Beckett lasted just 4 2/3 innings in his Fenway debut against the Yankees on April 4 (five runs, eight hits allowed), and followed that with Saturday’s 8-3 win at Kansas City as he scattered three runs on nine hits in seven innings. With Beckett on the mound, Boston is on runs of 4-1 overall, 14-3 at home, 13-4 against the A.L. East, 7-0 in series openers and 8-3 on Friday.
The Red Sox are also 6-1 in Beckett’s last seven starts against the Rays, against whom the right-hander is 7-4 with a 3.68 ERA in 15 career outings. Last year, Beckett went 2-1 with 5.02 ERA in five starts versus Tampa Bay, but 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in three games at home. Tampa Bay is on “over” runs of 5-1 overall (all versus the A.L. East), 5-1 on the road, 4-0 on Friday and 7-3 in series openers. Also, Boston has topped the total in four of five at home and five of six against the A.L. East, and with Beckett working, the Sox are on “over” surges of 4-1 overall, 7-1 at home, 6-0 within the division and 5-0 in series openers. However, four of Beckett’s last five outings versus the Rays have stayed low.

Jimmy Moore Guaranteed Selections
Date: Friday, April 16, 2010
$25.00 Guaranteed: This is a BIGGIE going from Jimmy on Friday night!!! It's my 5* NHL playoff total of the week and it goes for ONLY $25! As usual with Jimmy this play is guaranteed to win or you don't pay. I am RED HOT right now here on YouWinNow.com and I was a big winner on Thursday night with the under in the Buffalo - Boston game. Join me on Friday night for this big puckin' winner. 4/15/2010

#71 - #72 5* Detroit - Phoenix UNDER 5 -110 (10:05 edt) VERSUS
In game 1 of this series there were 5 goals scored, 4 of them were power play goals with all 3 of the Coyotes goals coming with the man advantage. Phoenix probably won't score 3 more power play goals in the rest of this series and you know the Wings will be better on the PK. Also Detroit will struggle to score with the Coyotes playing as good a defense as they are and there is no way Bryzgolav will allow a bad goal like he did in game 1. Everything points to a 2-1 or 1-0 game in this one. Thank you and good luck.

Jack Clayton Guaranteed Selections
Date: Friday, April 16, 2010
$25.00 Guaranteed: Jack Clayton loves the early season baseball card, with so many soft numbers. He cashed Saturday with the Cubs at even money, and Sunday with a 5* AL Game of the Month (Red Sox) and last night with another 5-Star Play on the Braves! The winning continues Friday with another 5-Star play, this time an AL Game of the Month, a complete rout on the diamond! 4/15/2010

5* (969) White Sox at Indians: The White Sox got their offense rolling this week, despite a 7-3 loss yesterday. The previous night Carlos Quentin drove in a career-high six runs, highlighted by a grand slam in the top of the fifth, in an 11-1 rout. This offense will have no trouble hitting in Cleveland's small stadium, especially against Mitch Talbot and his 7.20 ERA. His problems are youth and control, walking 5 batters in 5 innings, as well as 6 hits allowed. meanwhile, the White Sox have no such worries with ace lefty Mark Buehrle, who is 2-0 with a 2.40 ERA. He's already faced the punchless Cleveland lineup this season, firing a 3-hitter with no runs in 7 innings. Play the White Sox.
